# Datadog and Grafana Cloud pricing calculator > Price servers, logs and uptime monitors on Datadog, Grafana Cloud, Better Stack and UptimeRobot at list price, with every line of each bill shown. Facts checked 2026-10-16. *Price servers, logs and uptime monitors on Datadog, Grafana Cloud, Better Stack and UptimeRobot at list price, with every line of each bill shown. The tool runs on the web page: https://ployz.dev/tools/monitoring-cost* ## How each vendor bills Each vendor splits the same work into different meters. At the default usage, Datadog comes to $477.60 a month and Grafana Cloud to $203.18. - **Datadog** charges $18 a host for Infrastructure Pro. Logs cost $0.10 a GB to ingest, then a price per million events to index that rises with how long you keep them, from $1.27 for 3 days to $3 for 30. Uptime monitors are API tests at $6 per 10,000 runs. - **Grafana Cloud** is free up to its allowances. Past them, Pro is $19 a month plus usage. The calculator prices servers at Grafana's Kubernetes Monitoring host-hour rate, because servers outside Kubernetes are billed by active metric series, which depends on what each one sends. Kubernetes Monitoring also bills container hours past 37,944 a month, which the calculator leaves out. - **Better Stack** gives 3 GB of logs a month free. Its free monitors check every 3 minutes, so 1-minute checks start at $34 a month for 10 monitors. In its US region, logs past the free 3 GB cost $0.15 a GB to ingest and $0.08 a GB a month to keep. In Europe they cost $0.10 and $0.05. - **UptimeRobot** sells monitors only, in plans sized by monitor count. ## Why monitors can cost more than servers A monitor that runs every minute runs 43,200 times in a 30-day month. On Datadog that is $25.92 a monitor, more than a host. Grafana Cloud includes 100,000 runs, about two monitors' worth, and bills the rest from $5 per 10,000. A plan priced by monitor count, like UptimeRobot's or Better Stack's, costs far less for the same checks. ## What the totals leave out The calculator prices the entry plan that fits your usage at its month-to-month list price. It leaves out tax, annual and committed-use discounts, and add-ons such as APM, tracing or longer retention. When your usage needs a tier the pricing page doesn't list, the row says so instead of guessing. ## What Ployz includes Ployz includes [monitoring](https://ployz.dev/features/monitoring) for every service and server, and searchable logs. [Uptime checks](https://ployz.dev/features/uptime) come with Ployz Cloud. Your hosting provider bills you for the servers. ## Questions ### How much does Datadog cost for 5 servers? About $478 a month, with 2 GB of logs a day kept 15 days and 10 API tests that run every minute. Infrastructure Pro is $18 a host, so $90. Logs are $6 to ingest and $122.40 to index. The 10 tests are $259.20, more than the hosts. ### How is Grafana Cloud priced? The free tier covers 2,232 Kubernetes Monitoring host hours, 50 GB of logs kept 14 days and 100,000 API test runs a month. Past any of those, Pro is $19 a month plus usage above the free amounts. Host hours start at $0.01. A GB of logs costs $0.05 to process and $0.40 to write. Pro keeps logs 30 days at no extra charge. Querying up to 100 times the GB written is free, and the calculator assumes your queries stay within that. Test runs start at $5 per 10,000. Each rate drops at volumes Grafana lists. Those volumes count your total usage, and the free amounts come off the first band. Retention past 30 days goes through Grafana support, so the calculator stops there. Grafana's public calculator adds a retention charge on Pro, but its logs invoice docs and the Pro plan include 30 days, so this calculator follows them. Kubernetes Monitoring also bills container hours past 37,944 a month, about 52 containers, which this calculator does not count. Servers outside Kubernetes are billed by active metric series instead, so their real cost depends on what each one sends. ### Why does Better Stack ignore my servers? Better Stack sells metrics by the GB, not per server, so its bill here is monitors and logs. Its free plan checks every 3 minutes at best. Checks every minute need the $34-a-month Responder license, which covers 10 monitors, plus $25 a month for each extra 50. ### Why is UptimeRobot in euros? UptimeRobot shows euro prices to visitors in the eurozone, and other currencies elsewhere. The calculator shows the euro prices as listed instead of converting them. Plans with 1-minute checks run from €10 a month for 10 monitors to €179 a month for 500. The free plan checks every 5 minutes, so the calculator doesn't use it. ### What does the calculator assume? A 30-day month, each monitor running every minute from one location, Datadog log events of 1 KB, and month-to-month list prices before tax. Datadog and Better Stack are priced for their US region. Grafana Cloud prices each server as Kubernetes Monitoring host hours. Grafana log queries stay within its fair-use allowance. UptimeRobot stays in euros, unconverted. Each input stops at 1,000,000. The calculator applies no annual or committed-use discount. ### What does Ployz include? Ployz includes monitoring for every service and server, and searchable logs. Uptime checks come with Ployz Cloud. Your hosting provider bills you for the servers. ## Sources - [Datadog: pricing list](https://www.datadoghq.com/pricing/list/) - [Grafana Cloud: pricing](https://grafana.com/pricing/) - [Grafana Cloud: logs pricing](https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/platform/pricing-and-usage/logs/) - [Grafana Cloud: logs invoice](https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/cost-management-and-billing/understand-your-invoice/logs-invoice/) - [Better Stack: pricing](https://betterstack.com/pricing) - [Better Stack: check frequency](https://betterstack.com/docs/uptime/check-frequency/) - [UptimeRobot: pricing](https://uptimerobot.com/pricing/) [Monitoring for every service and server, included](https://ployz.dev/features/monitoring)
