Monitoring

Monitoring, included.

CPU, memory, network and disk for every service and server, with deploys marked on the chart.

A deploy lands at 10:27. The rule marks it, so a jump in memory or CPU lines up with the change that caused it.

Nothing to install

Every service and server is measured from the moment it runs. No exporter, no agent to set up, no second account.

Deploys on the chart

Each deploy is marked, and so are restarts and out-of-memory kills. A jump lines up with the change behind it.

Stays on your servers

The numbers are kept on the servers that made them. Nothing is shipped to a metrics service.

Ask from the terminal.

The same numbers come back in ployz metrics, as now, average and peak. Add --json and a coding agent can read them too.

your laptop

$ ployz metrics web

CPU, memory, network and disk for web: now, average and peak.

$ ployz metrics web --since 7d

The same, over the last week.

$ ployz metrics --server web-1

The server itself: CPU, memory, network per interface, and what fills its disk.

Compared with a metrics stack.

Good to know.

  • Pick the range from the last few minutes to the last month.
  • By server draws one line per server for a service that runs on several.
  • CPU and memory show the limit you set as a dashed line.
  • The agent in the dashboard reads the same numbers when you ask why something is slow.
  • Monitoring sits next to uptime checks, searchable logs and backups. Everything is included.

Questions

What does Ployz monitor?

CPU, memory, network in and out, and disk reads and writes, for every service and every server. Each service has a Monitoring tab, and each server shows how its disk is used.

Do I need Grafana or Prometheus?

No. Ployz measures every service and server on its own, and shows the charts in the dashboard and in ployz metrics.

Can I see which server is busy?

Yes. By server splits each chart into one line per server, so you see which machine runs hot.

Can a coding agent read the numbers?

Yes. ployz metrics --json prints them for a script or an agent, and the agent in the dashboard reads them too.

Where is the data kept?

On your own servers, next to the services it measures. Nothing is copied to a metrics service.

What does it cost?

Free on your own servers. Monitoring is included, along with logs, uptime checks and backups. Your hosting provider bills you for the servers.
